As the sun rises to touch our front doors each morning at Sligo Baptist Church we can trace our roots back to the turn of the 19th century when our first pastor came over the mountains of Virginia to settle in Kentucky.  Kentucky had been a state for less than 10 years when the first congregations began meeting.

We are a small country church and very proud to be one.  We are commanded to Love God and Love Others.  Our mission is to share the Good News of Christ in face-to-face settings while being confident in Christ.  We want to be a good neighbor within our Sligo Kentucky community.

Our regular meetings are Sundays and Wednesdays.  We worship together on Sunday mornings and would love for you to join us for Sunday school at 9:45am and worship service at 11am.  We gather for prayer at 6:15pm on Sunday evenings.   Our Wednesday discipleship classes begin at 6:30pm.

We are a loving church and we are as riddled with imperfections as any other church (no perfect people allowed).  We know we are saved by the grace of God and not our works. We see in God’s word that we are called by God to love others and we strive to follow God’s commands in our daily lives.
